MICHAEL BADURA (1938)
Michael Badura was born in Oppeln, Oberschleisen – a city that is now Polish but at the time was part of Nazi Germany. After studying he moved to Beyenburg in the Rhine region, where he still lives.
While working as a draughtsman for the Zoological and Botanical Institutes of the University of Göttingen (1963-1972), he became known for artworks that confronted subjects of ecology and criticised the processes of civilisation in Western society, which often manifested itself in security-conscious and authoritarian ways.
