Palazzo Butera, 19–22 April 2027
Studium. Creating learning atmospheres
From 19 to 22 April 2027, Palazzo Butera will host Studium, a creative laboratory dedicated to rethinking executive education and adult learning at a time when instability, social transformations and artificial intelligence are profoundly changing our relationship with knowledge.
Studium is part of Arteficium, a project that creates opportunities for encounter, research and experimentation through the relationship between the arts, knowledge and place. Through experiences deeply rooted in the contexts in which they take place, Arteficium invites participants to reflect on institutions, the relationship between value and values, and, more broadly, the transformations shaping the contemporary world. Palazzo Butera, the Kalsa district and Palermo thus become not simply the setting for these encounters, but an active part of the experience.
At the heart of Studium lies a question: how can we create truly meaningful conditions for learning, thinking and generating new knowledge today?
The project is aimed at those whom Arteficium describes as “learning architects”: people who contribute to designing and transforming learning ecosystems. Senior figures and leaders from universities, businesses, public institutions, innovation labs, and creative and cultural organisations will be invited to bring different disciplines, experiences and practices into dialogue.
Over four days, Palazzo Butera, Palermo and the Sicilian landscape will become an integral part of the programme, offering different atmospheres in which to think, observe, discuss and exchange ideas.
The aim is to create new “learning atmospheres”: environments capable of fostering connections between disciplines, professional knowledge, experiences, cultural heritage, past and present, allowing unexpected perspectives and new approaches to learning to emerge.
In this sense, the choice of Palazzo Butera as the setting for Studium resonates with the very nature of the Palazzo: a place where different periods, languages and forms of knowledge coexist and are continually brought into dialogue.
