Applications are now open for the 5th edition of the Nouveau Grand Tour residency programme in Italy.


The Nouveau Grand Tour is an artist residency programme between France and Italy, launched in 2022. It forms part of the Quirinale Treaty and involves public institutions from both countries. The Nouveau Grand Tour is a programme that brings bilateral cultural cooperation to life: it supports mobility, promotes artistic research and strengthens cultural relations between France and Italy.

Two separate calls for applications are published each year: one for French artists wishing to work in Italy, and the other for Italian artists wishing to work in France.

 

This call for applications is aimed at French artists wishing to undertake a period of research in Italy.

 

  • 25 artists selected
  • 1 month’s residency in Italy (between September and December)
  • all disciplines
  • 📍20 partner venues across Italy

 

Applicants must:

  • Be under 36 years of age on the start date of the residency;
  • Hold French nationality or have been resident in France for at least 3 years;
  • Be able to provide proof of civil liability insurance;
  • Have a good knowledge of English and/or Italian.

 

The Nouveau Grand Tour is made possible by the support of the Institut français, as part of the Fabrique des Résidences, and by the support of ARDIAN.

Applications are open until Wednesday 6 May (23:59 CEST). To avoid any inconvenience, we advise against submitting your application at the last minute.
